Suffah Intellectual School

Islamic based education blended with latest technology

IT Labs

Information technology is the study and use of systems for storing, retrieving, and sending information. This can include software, hardware, applications, and so much more.

The modern research provides the positive effects of technology in children’s learning and development, both cognitive and social. Technology can increase communication within the classroom and from classroom to home. Project-based learning helps students to collaborate, review and use data. Students work in groups on the computer, seeking help from each other instead of the teacher which helps in improving communication and cooperation. The use of internet brings a whole new world of educational resources and teaching aid. It is also an integral part of the world we live in. Teaching students how to use technology to learn, research, collaborate and solve problem from an early age will better prepare them for their careers. The more familiar we make computers to our youngest learner, the easier time they will have using computers as they get older and enter into professional fields. In addition to these computer skills, students can gain information about how to use the internet safely and effectively in a controlled environment.
• At Suffah Intellectual school we don’t just provide technology resources for our students. Technology is carefully integrated in every classroom curriculum on a daily basis as part of the overall classroom plan.
• Now 20 up to date Computer machines are allocated in a computer lab in a safe environment
where students are taught to use computers in an appropriate way with safety instructions.

• The laboratory is properly ventilated and the room is well lit with reliable power supply.

• Computers are used to extend the curriculum, offering exploration and additional learning opportunities of concepts and subjects.

• Computer study is based on more practical approach than the theoretical summarization.

Science Lab

The study of science in a practical way is the most important task of our school. Science is different from any other subject. In order to understand its concepts, one has to look beyond the books and conventional classroom teaching. Effective science teaching and learning involves seeing, handling and creating material with real objects. Without laboratories, students cannot understand the relationship between action and reaction. Islam also emphasizes on research, exploration and observation. Science is not a divine revelation but it provides a means for the welfare of man and to better understanding the creation of Allah (SWT). The Glorious Qur'an did inspire our ancestors, the universal Muslim scientists who pushed the frontiers of knowledge and advanced the Islamic civilization that lasted nearly one thousand years. Many books are devoted to Qur'anic Inspirations on the understanding or advancement of Science and Technology.

It is reported that the Messenger of Allah (SWT) peace be upon him to have once said,

Learning comprises treasure houses whose keys are queries.

Messenger of Allah (SWT)

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W) encouraged the spirit of investigation and analysis of facts. One of the most inspiring Ayah (verses) in the Qur'an is the following:

And He has subjected to you, as from Him, all that is in the heavens and on earth: behold, in that are signs indeed those who reflect. (45: 13)

Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W)

Suffah Intellectual School aims at combining class room teaching with laboratory experiments to ensure that our students grasp each and every concept thoroughly. We believe that laboratory teaching and experiments that are being conducted by themselves encourage deep understanding in children. Keeping this in view, we have established two major labs in our school. One is for junior scientists and the other lab is for senior scientists. The laboratory has all necessary equipment including Anatomy models, Physics and Chemistry kits and other resources which make it easy to understand the otherwise complex theories of science. We aim at preparing brilliant and dedicated scientist and researchers. We want children to develop interest in scientific research and science lab. When they observe various things and carry out experiments, they start thinking deeply on those theories and concepts which thus play a vital role in bringing up the next generation of engineers and doctors.

Library

Library is an important component of a learning process. It helps in filling the gap between education and knowledge which nothing else can, not even computers. A person who reads is usually wiser and has a deeper sense of understanding in comparison to those who don’t and thus, if there is a library in school, our students will learn so much by learning the art of reading at an early age.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) received the first revelation of the holy Qur’an – that remains untainted and unchanged until this very day. The underlying message of the Qur’an remains too – “read.”

Read, in the name of thy Lord who created, man from a clot. Read, for your Lord is most generous, who teaches by means of the pen, teaches man what they know not, (al-‘Alaq: 1-5)

Qur’an

In Suffah intellectual school’s Library, students sit in the same place for hours and find out things that they cannot find immediately in their practical life. When they read, they ask questions and thus satisfy their inquisitive mind. We believe that library successfully bridges the gap between what children ought to know and what they’re taught in schools. The teachers and our education system are highly dependent on books to give children the wisdom that will help them get by life.

Books have had a history of reforming people. Thus, the best solution to all the problems that our country is facing today could be books. Libraries sow the seed which will grow in the children as they grow up and will help our country become much more self-sufficient and problem free. By giving our students an open access to books, we are giving them an opportunity to research and explore. Books will help them in making the country and their own lives much more valuable and focused.
